Infrascale Named a 2015 Gartner “Cool Vendor” in Business Continuity Management and IT Disaster Recovery Management Report

El Segundo, Calif., May 1, 2015 – Infrascale, a leading provider of secure, cloud-managed data protection, announced today it was named as one of Gartner‘s Cool Vendors in the Business Continuity Management and IT Disaster Recovery Management* report for 2015.

Each year, Gartner identifies new vendors in key technology areas and publishes a series of research reports recognizing these innovative vendors and their products and services. Gartner looked at ‘Cool Vendors’ that are improving operational resilience by using backup and recovery for IT services heterogeneity, communications and collaboration tailored to manage crises, and automation to make the case for a strong continuity program.

“We feel being named among Gartner’s ‘Cool Vendors’ speaks to the growing importance of taking a cloud-centric approach to backup and disaster recovery,” said Ken Shaw, CEO of Infrascale. “We believe the recognition of Infrascale’s technology validates our position that a cloud approach enables companies to lower hardware and complexity costs while receiving enterprise-class security and uptime.”

Uptime is grounded in a vendor’s ability to deliver disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) solutions enabling organizations to quickly resume operations after minor or major disruptive events. To scale across a broad range of companies, it is important that the DRaaS solution interoperates across heterogeneous environments and operating systems, we believe this is one of the key differentiators of Infrascale.

According to Gartner a key finding is that, “not all disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) and cloud backup and recovery providers can support a broad range of production data center computing platforms, data protection methods, off-premises IT services and disk storage subsystem heterogeneity.” A couple of recommendations from the report are that companies “select a DRaaS provider that supports all of your IT service infrastructure components,” and that they “implement an end-to-end hybrid cloud backup and recovery solution that can protect many types of data and platforms in a variety of locales and at an attractive price point.”
