MANCHESTER, UK (May 28, 2013) – FileLocker will begin offering its file sharing solution, hosted in its UK-based data centre on 1 July, 2013. This puts FileLocker on the very short list of firms offering hosting for their file sharing services inside the European Union, specifically the United Kingdom, enabling compliance with the Data Protection Act.
FileLocker currently offers the option of hosting FileLocker privately in clients’ own data centres or on-premise servers. This method is ideal for many firms who must own the hardware on which they host their cloud-based applications. However, smaller enterprises may not wish to invest in hardware for on-premise deployments. For firms that must store data within United Kingdom, but do not wish to deploy their own on-premise server, FileLocker will host its solution in a London-based data centre. The service retails at £6 per user per month.
